Fasting and preparation tips
- Some tests (like a fasting lipid panel or fasting glucose) need 8–12 hours with no food. Water is fine and helps make the draw easier.
- Book fasting labs early in the day so you can eat sooner.
- Keep taking your usual medicines unless your doctor told you otherwise.
- Stop biotin supplements 48 hours before thyroid or hormone tests if your doctor agrees, because biotin can change some results.
- Have your ID and lab order (if you have one) ready.
Your results
Results are sent by the lab to you and to your primary care provider. Doho Wellness Clinic collects your specimen; we do not read or interpret lab results, so please review them with your doctor.

Can I get blood work without a doctor’s order in the RGV?
Yes. Our cash lab panels don’t need a doctor’s order. Results go to you and your primary care provider.
Do you do in-home blood draws?
Yes. We come to your home, office or facility anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley up to 100 miles from Donna. Travel is free within 7 miles of our clinic (522 N Main St, Suite 1, Donna, TX), then $0.70/mile beyond 7 miles.
